The Istanbul based Gallery ANNA LAUDEL contemporary invites the Berlin based Art Agency Bernheimer Contemporary for their opening show in their new rooms.

The international collaboration of both Galleries starts with the exhibition When did we stop playing, curated by Isabel Bernheimer for her artists

(Peter Alasztics, Blue and Joy – Daniele Sigalot, Alexander Deubl, Swaantje Güntzel, Felix Höfner, Sebastian Klug, Jan Kuck, Milana Schoeller, Ludovic Thiriez and Johannes Vetter).

Our world and life seems often like a big game. In the big and also in the small scale – sometimes we are ruling this game but not seldom we are being ruled by it.

But our live is too important and much too serious, to play with it. So it is time to ask ourselves loudly: when did we stop playing?!

On the other hand a life without playing is not worth to live for and out of this perspective to play is a very serious issue.

Like it was already written in Homo Ludens, the game is the elementary form of finding an meaningful human life and that all our cultural systems are raised out the game.

The exhibition When did we stop playing deals with this intriguing dichotomy of playing in a genuine and humorous but always responsible and suspenseful way.
